Blackwater has a lot going on, but the basics are simple. Send out voyages, collect loot, build your profile, join a crew, take care of your companion, and jump into PvE when your server wants something more active to do together.

Core gameflows
This is the part that matters most when you are new. The commands are useful, but the game makes more sense once you know the usual flow.
Passive progress
Start with /startvoyage. Let the voyage run, then use /voyagestatus when you come back. This is the main low-effort loop.
Social progress
Add mateys, join a crew, contribute resources, and keep an eye on what your crew is building. This is where Blackwater starts feeling less solo.
Group play
Use /pve create when people are around. Others can join the lobby, then you start the fight and work through it together.
Long-term stuff
Companions, ships, cosmetics, achievements, and seasons are not things you finish in one day. They are there to build up slowly.
Recommended new player flow
Open your profile
Run /profile first. It shows your level, EXP, crew, companion, resources, cosmetics, and other progress in one place.
Send your first voyage
/startvoyage is the easiest place to begin. Safe routes are steady. Risky routes are better when they succeed, but they can fail.
Check what came back
/voyagestatus shows active voyages, ready voyages, and recent loot. Use it whenever you return to the server.
Pick what to grow next
Adopt a companion, join a crew, add mateys, build a ship, or start saving for cosmetics. You do not have to do everything at once.
Tip: You do not need to min-max everything. Blackwater is meant to give your server small reasons to come back, talk, compare progress, and build something over time.
Voyages & resources
Voyages are the easiest way to keep progress moving. Send one out, wait for it to finish, then claim the loot. A voyage can bring back doubloons, rum, EXP, and resources like wood, iron, cloth, hemp, or gold ore.
Main commands
Use /startvoyage to send one out, /voyagestatus to check and claim, /voyagehistory to look back, and /sharedvoyage to run one with a matey.
Route choice
Safe routes are steady. Normal routes are the middle ground. Risky routes are better when they work, but you should expect some failed trips.
Resources
Resources are used across the game. They matter for trading, crew progress, events, and other systems, so they are worth collecting even early on.
Crews & mateys
Crews and mateys are the social side of Blackwater. A crew gives players a shared name and place to contribute. Mateys are more personal, more like direct player connections.
Crew flow
Create a crew or join one, add a description, recruit members, contribute resources, and use the logs to see what changed.
Matey flow
Send a matey request, accept or decline requests you receive, and build a list of players you actually interact with.
Website focus
Crew pages focus on contribution, members, and identity. They are meant to show what the crew is building, not turn everything into a fight for stats.
Companions
Companions are your long-term buddy system. You adopt one at The Docks, take care of it, and slowly build a bond with it. It also gives your profile a bit more personality.
Adopt and view
/companion adopt takes you to The Docks. /companion view shows yours or anyone else's companion.
Care and growth
/companion interact to bond, /companion shop for items, /companion manage to feed, rename, revive, or release.
Bonding Points
Companions earn Bonding Points through voyages and PvE. The website tracks BP so you can see who has the strongest bond on the server.
PvE battles
PvE is the active group mode. Instead of waiting on a voyage, you create a lobby, people join, and the group fights through waves together. Battles happen in their own channels so the rest of the server does not get spammed.
Lobby flow
An admin runs /pve setup to pick a category. Anyone can then /pve create a lobby, others /pve join, and the host /pve start when ready.
Difficulty
Higher difficulty means tougher enemies but better loot. Group size also scales the fight. more pirates means a harder battle.
Stats and rewards
After a fight, /pve rewards shows your cut, /pve viewstats tracks your combat record, and /pve history logs past battles.
Season & recurring rewards
Seasons give the server something bigger to work on. You can complete challenges, help with community goals, damage the season boss, and claim rewards while the season is active. Daily, weekly, and monthly rewards keep the smaller loop going too.
Season commands
/season and /season info to see the current season. /season-progress, /season-challenges, /season-claim, and /season-leaderboard to track and collect.
Reward rhythm
/daily, /weekly, and /monthly give you predictable rewards without demanding time from every system.
Tracking
/cooldowns tells you what is ready. /dailychallenges keeps short-term goals visible. Season pages pull it all together.
Economy, items & customization
Doubloons, rum, resources, cosmetics, ship upgrades, trading, and shop items all connect in some way. You do not need to understand every part immediately, but the more you play, the more useful each currency and item type becomes.
Inventory and market
/market and /buy for shopping. /useitem, /equip, and /unequip to manage what you carry and what shows on your profile.
Ships
Buy blueprints, build your ship, equip upgrades, and set it as active. Your ship is visible on your profile and affects voyages.
Trading and voting
/tradingcentre to trade with other players. /vote for external rewards. /open_chests to crack open what you have earned.
Slash command browser
Search commands or click to expand them. Grouped commands like /pve and /companion show their subcommands inside, so you do not have to hunt through a flat list.
