Guides, gameflows & commands
Blackwater has a lot going on, but the basics are simple. Send out voyages, collect loot, build your profile, join a crew, take care of your companion, craft treasure maps, and jump into PvE when your server wants something more active to do together.
Core gameflows
This is the part that matters most when you are new. The commands are useful, but the game makes more sense once you know the usual flow.
Passive progress
Start with /voyage and hit "Set Sail". Let the voyage run, then come back and check "Current Voyages" when you return. This is the main low-effort loop.
Social progress
Add mateys with /mateys, join a crew with /crew join, contribute resources, and keep an eye on what your crew is building.
Group play
Use /pve when people are around. Create a lobby, others join, then start the fight and work through it together.
Long-term stuff
Companions, ships, treasure maps, seasons, rewards, and minigames are not things you finish in one day. They build up over time.
Recommended new player flow
Open your profile
Run /profile first. It shows your level, EXP, crew, companion, resources, cosmetics, and other progress in one place.
Send your first voyage
/voyage opens the Navigation Table. Choose "Set Sail" and pick a route. Safe routes are steady; risky routes pay better but can fail.
Check what came back
Use /voyage then "Current Voyages" to see active and completed trips. Claim your loot and check /cooldowns to see what is ready next.
Pick what to grow next
Adopt a companion, join a crew, add mateys, craft treasure maps, play minigames, or start saving for cosmetics with /rewards.
Voyages & resources
Voyages are the easiest way to keep progress moving. Send one out, wait for it to finish, then claim the loot. A voyage can bring back doubloons, rum, EXP, and resources like wood, iron, cloth, hemp, or gold ore.
Main commands
Use /voyage to open the Navigation Table. "Set Sail" sends a voyage, "Current Voyages" tracks active and completed trips, "Shared Voyage" runs one with a matey, and "Voyage History" reviews your past results.
Route choice
Safe routes are steady (1h). Normal routes are the middle ground (3h). Risky routes pay more when they work (6h), but expect some failures.
Shared Voyages
Run a shared voyage with a matey using the "Shared Voyage" option in the Navigation Table. Pick a partner and a route. Both players earn rewards when it completes.
Crews & mateys
Crews and mateys are the social side of Blackwater. A crew gives players a shared name and place to contribute. Mateys are more personal, like direct player connections.
Crew commands
/crew has quick subcommands: create, join, recruit, leave. /crews opens the full Crew Quarters to browse, manage members, contribute resources, and view logs.
Matey commands
/mateys opens your mateys hub. Send and accept requests, block users, and manage your connections all from one place.
Website focus
Crew pages focus on contribution, members, and identity. They are meant to show what the crew is building, not turn everything into a fight for stats.
Companions
Companions are your long-term buddy system. You adopt one at The Docks, take care of it, and slowly build a bond. Your companion shows on your profile and grows with you over time.
Adopt and view
/companion adopt takes you to The Docks. /companion view shows yours or anyone else's companion. /companion leaderboard ranks companions by Bonding Points.
Care and growth
/companion interact to bond, /companion shop for items and cosmetics, /companion manage to feed, rename, revive, or release.
Bonding Points
Companions earn Bonding Points through voyages and PvE. Higher bond unlocks profile perks. The website tracks BP so you can see who has the strongest bond.
Treasure maps & minigames
Treasure maps and minigames give you something active to do between voyage cooldowns. Craft maps from components you find on voyages, then explore them for loot. Minigames offer quick daily rewards.
Treasure maps
/treasure lets you craft maps from Treasure Map Pieces (TMPs), explore the map step by step, and check your component inventory. Maps get harder as you progress but rewards scale up.
Minigames
/minigames opens the Tavern Room with dice rolls, number guessing, memory match, quick math, and treasure hunts. Each minigame has its own cooldown and reward pool.
Strategy
Play minigames between voyages for extra doubloons and rum. Save TMPs from voyages and craft maps when you have enough for a full chain.
PvE battles
PvE is the active group mode. Create a lobby, people join, and the group fights through waves together. Battles happen in their own channels so the rest of the server does not get spammed.
Lobby flow
An admin runs /pve and uses setup to configure categories. Anyone can create a lobby, others join, and the host starts when ready. Use /pve for all PvE actions.
Difficulty & scaling
Higher difficulty means tougher enemies but better loot. Group size also scales the fight. More pirates means a harder battle and better rewards.
Stats and rewards
After a fight, check rewards, view your combat stats, and browse your battle history. All accessible through the /pve hub.
Season & recurring rewards
Seasons give the server something bigger to work on. Complete challenges, help with community goals, damage the season boss, and claim rewards while the season is active. Daily, weekly, and monthly rewards keep the smaller loop going too.
Season commands
/season opens the Season Roll with progress, challenges, and rewards all in one view. Track leaderboards and claim season rewards through the hub.
Reward rhythm
/rewards gives you access to daily, weekly, and monthly claims from one place. No need to remember separate commands.
Tracking
/cooldowns tells you what is ready. /dailychallenges keeps short-term goals visible. The Season Roll pulls it all together.
Economy, items & customization
Doubloons, rum, resources, cosmetics, ship upgrades, trading, and shop items all connect in some way. You do not need to understand every part immediately, but the more you play, the more useful each currency and item type becomes.
Market & inventory
/market opens the Black Market for shopping. Manage your items, equip passives, and use consumables all through the market hub.
Ships
/ships opens The Docks. Buy blueprints, build ships, equip upgrades, and set your active ship. Your ship is visible on your profile and affects voyage outcomes.
Voting & chests
/vote for external rewards. /open_chests to crack open resource chests you have earned. /treasure to craft and explore treasure maps.
Webhooks & notifications
Blackwater can send notifications to specific channels when important events happen. Set up webhooks to keep your server informed without needing to check the bot directly.
Setting up
Use /webhook set to create or update a notification webhook. Pick a type (voyage, PvE, crew, season) and a target channel. The bot will post updates there automatically.
Managing
/webhook list shows all active webhooks for your server. /webhook remove deletes a webhook type. Each server manages its own webhooks independently.
Notification types
Different webhook types cover different events. Voyage notifications post when voyages complete. PvE notifications announce lobby activity. Crew and season webhooks keep everyone synced.
Slash command browser
Search commands or click to expand them. Grouped commands like /pve, /companion, /treasure, /webhook, and /language show their subcommands inside. Most commands open interactive hubs instead of single responses.
